PS … I went , I saw and I arrived home at 21.55 but I did see a super film lasting 80 minutes only 10 km from home 5 hours and 35 to see Terraferma directed by Emanuele Crialese. I would have traveled 10 hours to see it…awesome just awesome…review tomorow.

I really must return, there are at the moment 8 new films out EIGHT why when for the past 8 weeks there has been none….. ?It is still 30 degrees, the bus has air condition however the locals wants the windows open to get fresh air as the aircon will give you a headache….. uhmmm yes. There are no time tables only suggestions as to when it will leave and return making it a leave home at 16.30 to see film 10 KM away at 18.30 and I will return at 20.10 … Charles I am sure you understand in this heat it is somewhat a hard task much faster travelling to Rome really….. Still I must start pulling myself together. Boris ? I did not see it sorry as it was a comedy and the poster with the dump fish put me off ;-(

Hi Marianne, I hope you’ll come back from the beach soon. Is there any reason to watch Boris – Il Film or would that be a complete waste of time?

The film you were watching was Giulia Doesn’t Date at Night – Giulia non esce la sera directed by Giuseppe Piccioni back in 2009. A good film and I think an interesting side to Italian culture is revealed. Hope you get to see the rest of the film soon. Let me know what you think of it.

Hello,

I found your website while trying to track down the name of an Italian movie I was watching from Netflix last night–screen went black in the middle; now I can’t locate the film on Netflix again because I don’t remember the name. Maybe the film was flawed and they removed the movie. It’s a contemporary film about an Italian writer who falls in love with a swim coach with a dark past–very well done. Are you familiar with it?

That sounds like a good project for me to get started on. Most of the films I review will not be seen outside Italy for perhaps a year so I have also thought about writing about slightly older films right now as I am struggling
to find interesting stuff……Thank you for that Charles.

So, this isn’t very exciting but maybe it’s better than nothing. You could post announcements when films are released to DVD along with links back to your original reviews. That would be great for me. I’m frequently scanning the top 100 DVDs at amazon.it (few of which are even Italian movies) looking for new releases. Then I have to come over hear and search for the review to see if it might be any good. I enjoy reading your reviews of the theatrical releases but this is always months before I can actually see the movie.
